We would like to thank the City of Calgary for funding this initiative for our clients. Last month, our "Tech Buddy" pilot program at the Lakeview Community Association was more than just a success—it was a joyful, buzzing hub of intergenerational learning.
We watched with pride as enthusiastic students from Connect Charter School patiently sat alongside older adults, guiding them through the world of smartphones, tablets, and laptops. The room was filled not just with questions about apps and settings, but with laughter, shared stories, and mutual respect. The seniors gained invaluable digital confidence, while the students discovered the reward of sharing their knowledge and connecting with a different generation. This is the heart of what we do. Intergenerational learning bridges gaps, builds community, and reminds us that everyone has something to teach and something to learn. It transforms a simple tech lesson into a meaningful human connection, and the results are truly beautiful. Want to join our growing Tech Buddy community? We have more classes coming up! Upcoming Lakeview Community Classes: Stay tuned for new dates! We are currently planning our next round of beginner-friendly sessions at the Lakeview Community Association. Follow us or check back soon for the schedule. Ongoing Weekly Support at Calgary Co-op: Can't wait? We offer drop-in Tech Buddy support every Thursday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Calgary Co-op Macleod Trail Food Centre (8818 Macleod Trail SE). This friendly, weekly session is designed to help older adults build confidence and proficiency with computers, phones, and tablets in a relaxed, supportive environment. Ready to Get Started?
