Secure your appointment early to ensure availability! The Seniors’ Legal Access Program helps older adults overcome barriers to accessing essential legal services, such as language, cultural differences, financial constraints, and mobility challenges. It provides low-cost assistance with preparing, updating, and modifying wills and related documents, ensuring seniors receive the support they need in a clear and accessible way.
This service is offered in community locations and in clients’ first languages, including English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. Through partnerships with legal professionals, we assist with gathering necessary information, connecting seniors to affordable legal services, and supporting them until their documents are finalized. We also host free legal education webinars and seminars covering topics like will preparation, Power of Attorney vs. Personal Directive, and managing family conflicts. These sessions include interactive elements, such as quizzes, to make learning engaging and practical. By providing accurate legal information and personalized support, we empower seniors to make informed decisions, reducing their vulnerability and fostering independence. This program is funded by the Alberta Law Foundation, in partnership with CA Law, Calgary Legal Guidance, and Rolandas Vaiciulis - Barrister & Solicitor. Get Ready for Tax Season! (via Zoom):
