      We are proud to announce the successful completion of the Elder Angels project, a community initiative made possible through the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP). This project brought together seniors and youth to support some of Calgary's most vulnerable populations while creating meaningful engagement opportunities for older adults .

Community Engagement and Learning Volunteers participated in hands-on bag-filling events held at the partner locations. A highlight of the project was the educational component. Representatives from each organization delivered powerful presentations, and volunteers received a tour of the Salvation Army's transitional housing, deepening their understanding of the populations they were serving. MPC Foundation members soaked in the sights, sounds, and flavours of Calgary's largest one-day cultural celebration—from lion dances to authentic dim sum, and everything in between. It was a wonderful opportunity to explore, connect, and celebrate together as a community. Our Seniors’ Legal Access Program helps older adults overcome barriers to access essential legal services, such as language, cultural differences, financial constraints, and mobility challenges. It provides low-cost/free assistance to prepare, update, and modify wills and related documents, ensuring seniors receive the support they need in a clear and accessible way.
This program is possible thanks to our partnership with Calgary Legal Guidance, Alberta Law Foundation and many diverse law firms in our city.
