We are thrilled to share a milestone from our Community-Based Income Tax Services for Seniors Program: to date, we have helped over 600 Calgarians access the benefits and credits they deserve—completely free of charge.

This program is about more than just filing taxes. It’s about ensuring our older adults feel supported, respected, and empowered. Through in-person clinics at local community hubs, trained volunteers provide one-on-one assistance to seniors with modest incomes and simple tax situations.

What makes this program special?

- Personalized Support: Stress-free, confidential appointments.
- Multilingual Service: Help offered in various languages (based on volunteer availability).
- Financial Empowerment: We don’t just file taxes; we help seniors understand their entitlements to foster confidence and independence.
- No Cost: Completely free support to alleviate financial stress.

Thank you to our amazing volunteers and partners for helping us make a real difference in our community! 💙

Tech Buddies: Seniors, Students, and the Power of Connection

2/4/2026

Last month, our "Tech Buddy" pilot program at the Lakeview Community Association was more than just a success—it was a joyful, buzzing hub of intergenerational learning.

We watched with pride as enthusiastic students from Connect Charter School patiently sat alongside older adults, guiding them through the world of smartphones, tablets, and laptops. The room was filled not just with questions about apps and settings, but with laughter, shared stories, and mutual respect. The seniors gained invaluable digital confidence, while the students discovered the reward of sharing their knowledge and connecting with a different generation.

This is the heart of what we do. Intergenerational learning bridges gaps, builds community, and reminds us that everyone has something to teach and something to learn. It transforms a simple tech lesson into a meaningful human connection, and the results are truly beautiful.

Want to join our growing Tech Buddy community? We have more classes coming up!
